The Camberwell Gardens Guild manages 32 plots on a site on top of Dog Kennel Hill.  The Guild leases the land from Southwark Council under an arrangement reached when allotments were lost to the building of the Camberwell Magistrates Court.  The site is accessed via Lettsom Community Gardens beside no. 8 Grove Park, SE5.  Click here for an aerial view.
We encourage people to garden without artificial pesticides or fertlizers.  Along with the adjacent Lettsom Community Gardens, the site is an imprtant 'green lung' in a densley populated inner city area.  Parakeets and Great Spotted Woodpeckers nest on the site and a wide variety of other birds have been seen, including Sparrowhawks.

Pupils from Dog Kennel Hill School have a half plot, which they work with their gardening teacher.  In the past they have grown Canadian wheat, which they later milled and made into bread.

We recommend for buying seeds at a good price.
