Camberwell Gardens Guild

The Camberwell Gardens Guild was founded in 1926 by a group of Camberwell residents who had an enthusiasm for gardening. Our 90th anniversary was celebrated with a very successful tea party in 2016. Although there have been changes over the years, our aims generally remain the same: "The encouragement of cultivation and provision of assistance to amateur gardeners within the London Borough of Southwark by means of talks, advice and the holding of Flower Shows".

Our Committee meets monthly to organise social evenings with speakers, quizzes, demonstrations connected with Schedule activities, coach outings to stately homes and gardens and Spring and Autumn Shows. All details are set out in our Membership Schedule. We also have a thriving allotment section and cups and prizes are awarded annually for best kept allotments and for the best allotment newcomer. There are allotment open days and you can buy honey from the bee keeper. There is, however, a long waiting list but worth the wait.

We are affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and use their Show Handbook as a guide to our Show exhibits and judging.

Membership is open to all ages. Children under the age of 15 are entitled to free membership and free entries to the shows. Please come and join us - a warm welcome awaits you all.
