Angels Gate Cultural Center

At Angels Gate Park
20 miles south of downtown L.A.
3601 S. Gaffey Street, Bldg. H
San Pedro, California

Angel's Gate Park was once part of Fort MacArthur, whose guns defended the Port of Los Angeles during World War II.  The park sits on a hill in the San Pedro district and has fine views of the Pacific Ocean and the ships in the harbor.  You can still see concrete installations for the old guns, as well as the Korean Friendship Bell.  The buildings are wooden structures built in 1941.  They currently house a Cultural Center dedicated to the arts.

Building H, our venue, was once the headquarters of the fort's commanding officer.  It has wooden walls and floors, fine for singing!

Near the park are the Cabrillo Marine Museum and the Marine Mammal Rescue Center.

An old gun emplacement in the park, with the Pacific Ocean in the background.
