The Sleep Doctor's Diet Plan: Lose Weight through Better Sleep
Losing weight while you sleep may sound too good to be true, but in fact the connection between inadequate sleep and weight gain (among a host of other negative medical results) has long been recognized by medical researchers. Turning this equation on its head, clinical psychologist and board-certified sleep expert Dr. Michael Breus shows that a good night’s sleep will actually enable you to lose weight, especially if you have been chronically sleep deprived.87% (17)
The Sleep Doctor’s Diet Plan is designed to help any woman who has been frustrated by her inability to shed weight by giving her the tools to overcome the stress, poor habits, and environmental challenges that stand between her and adequate rest. Sleep deprivation is a frustrating reality for many women faced with chronic stress or hormonal changes—and the fatigue, moodiness, and weight gain that come with it might just be the tip of the iceberg. While helping thousands of women implement simple health and lifestyle changes to improve the quality and the quantity of their slumber, Dr. Breus has witnessed not only an upsurge in their energy levels and a diminishing of myriad health concerns, but also significant weight loss achieved without restrictive dieting or increased amounts of exercise.
In The Sleep Doctor’s Diet Plan, Dr. Breus delves into the science behind this sleep–weight-loss connection, explaining exactly how sleep boosts your metabolism, ignites fat burn, and decreases cravings and overall appetite, and he presents a realistic action plan to help you get your best sleep—and your best body—possible. He shows how you can overcome your personal sleep obstacles with a slumber-friendly evening routine, stress management techniques—even recipes for healthy meals and snacks—to help you fall asleep more easily.
If you are ready to stop tossing and turning night after night, if you are done downing coffee to conquer nagging fatigue, and if you have bounced from one diet to another in an effort to find one that really, finally helps you lose the pounds you want, The Sleep Doctor’s Diet Plan has the information, advice, and practical strategies you need to get deep, revitalizing sleep—and achieve a slimmer, healthier body in the process.

Hai. I was inspired by all the beautiful back shots on flickr, so I decided to do one myself. I really like it. I like the grain and all. The title is in french. I can't speak much french though. I do love babelfish. I haven't done a tag in such a long time, so I'm going to do one. Keep you updated on my life. 1. I've grown up so much in the time I've been at uni. 2. And I love it. 3. Though I have my childish moments...like hollering "Locooooo!" whenever I see Sam at uni. 4. It's a joke between our friend group that is difficult to explain. 5. I got a new phone today. It's a Nokia E5. (: 6. You can see my ribs in this photo. It's weird because I've been eating regularly (shock horror), and yet I've lost weight. Probably because of all the walking i've been doing. 7. I walk to uni every day. It used to be a 45 minute walk. It's now 30 mins because I have power legs. 8. I hate being unemployed. I've never wanted a job so bad. I hate having all this free time to do absolutely nothing. 9. Hopefully I should be getting a 50mm 1.8 lens for my birthday. I can't wait! 10. I'm going to be 19 next month. Scary! Actually, I'm not scared. I'm more scared of turning 20 o_o 11. I'm lying on the quilt my mum made me. I love it. I always snuggle up in it when I watch a film. 12. I've been doing a lot of that lately because there is nothing on TV and I havent been going out. 13. I wish I had more money so I could go out. 14. It'd be so much cheaper if i actually liked a pint. They are so cheap. 15. Damn my high taste in cocktails. 16. I changed my screen name for the first name in ages. 17. I like a bit of change every now and then. 18. I really want to use my film cameras. But it works out so expensive. 19. I'm going to give up with my flickr pro. Because I just can't afford it. Maybe i'll get pro back once I get a job. But for now, my pro is going in...about 4 days. 20. Might mean that I'm on flickr less. But somehow I doubt that.Sleeping Beauty. (307/365)
Ah, the next installment of my twisted fairytales series for the Vent! I'm not even going to get into what a hassle this one was to shoot. It came out fairly close to what I was aiming for, so I'm happy. And I guess I'm going to try to combine my fairytales with my totw album covers too. Why not? So the roads up here were complete crap this morning with black ice everywhere, so I decided to work from home. Or rather, my mom convinced me to work from home. Either way. It gave me a little more time to work on this shot today. Today also kicks off my big 2010 effort to lose weight and get healthy. I signed back up for Weight Watchers Online this morning. I've had a lot of success with WW before, though I always kind of arbitrarily quit after I started doing really well. This time I want to keep it up until I reach my goals. Wish me luck! **Explored** 365 Days (self portraits): Day 279 TOTW: album covers The Vent: twisted fairytales

Weight loss boils down to 3 key things:
Calories Burned - Everything you do during the day and night -- from pumping iron to pumping gas -- burns calories. And the way you burn calories may be different from the next person.
Calories Consumed - Knowing what you eat is an important part of losing weight. Too many carbs? Not enough fiber? BodyMedia FIT will give you a detailed nutritional breakdown.
Quantity and Quality of Sleep - Scientists understand and study the role of sleep in weight loss. Good sleep can help suppress your appetite and maintain your energy, which is important to weight loss.
