A 2013 USODA Team Trials qualifying event

Hosted by Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle

Shilshole Bay, Puget Sound

Dear Opti Sailing Community,

We are very excited to invite you to the first ever USODA Northwest Championship, which will be hosted by Corinthian Yacht Club of Seattle on Shilshole Bay (Puget Sound) October 19th to 21st, 2012. This is a USODA qualifying event for the 2013 U.S. National Team Trials which will be held in Pewaukee Yacht Club, Wisconsin, in May 2013.

If your child has never sailed in Seattle, this is your chance to catch some picture perfect shots of your young sailor racing with the breathtaking backdrop of the Olympic mountains. Moreover, the venue offers the possibility to follow the action from shore....or you may choose to stroll through nearby Ballard, Fremont, or vibrant downtown Seattle which is just a 15 minute drive away. We will let you know at the time of the event if spectator boats are available.

- Charter boats will be available for $150 (preliminary pricing; complete racing boat except sail and praddle).
- Housing can also be arranged if needed.
- CYC Coaches Derek Vranizan and Pablo Weber will accept a maximum of 18 sailors to coach during the event. Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis at a rate of $75/day ($50/day if you are also chartering a boat).
- Green fleet for beginning racers will also be available.

-Typical sailing conditions on Puget Sound in October are medium breeze and 55 degrees.

- Planning is in the works for a delicious Pacific NW dinner Saturday evening and fun social activity afterward!
