Los Angeles Yacht Club wants to thank all of the PARENTS first and Coaches and  Volunteers and help we had to hold a fun filled 53 kid event! This was GREAT BEGINNER  race (yes, the real champions would have been on the other side of the break wall, that is right folks with 18-22knots and waves that would be very much like a "cold" Mar del PlataARGENTINA,  right?)

GROWING!
LAYC would love to keep this event growing, we may be changing our launching arrangements, check in and check out to accommodate the numbers.  We had our first protest ever so we will be better prepared as this fun event grows more mature. Your online RSVP or Payments really help us to gauge the event and get enough food.  Remember to keep having great regattas, let treat the clubs facilities doing these events with respect.  Use your golden club house rule.

THE GULCH
We know that for some new sailors "the gulch" seems like too much of wind, but compared to the San Francisco Bay or the Gorge this is pretty low range with no waves or current conditions, please coaches and parents encourage these children let them know that all the kids in Champion where once right where they are now. Get in shape, learn the waves, face your capsizes fears and bale water a lot and you will be advancing fast.

REACH OUT
Some kids got set back a bit and some just disappeared,  Next week is a great  "safe" re-introduction if we stunted anyone's love for sailing. Please Coaches and parents reach out and try again here>>>SCYA MIDWINTERS AT Del Rey Yacht Club:  13900 Palawan WayMarina Del Rey, CA 90292  CALL 310.822.5182 drycjuniors@gmail.com

NEXT SO CAL!
The next event is at Morro Bay Yacht Club MORRO BAY YC.. this is one of the most gorgeous relaxed and refreshing venues on the circuit.  There are plenty of reasonable priced places to stay, the drive is not insane, the current is new to many kids and it is great to learn the play on the sand is unforgettable as is the wine and dinning and fish and chipping..There can be wind or not, the courses are pretty tame and not usoda.org regulation, but great to learn about managing current on.

GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR AND AT MORRO BAY YC..
