Marinated Tempeh

Orange Maple Marinade
½ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 tbsp. tamari or organic soy sauce (to avoid MSG)
3 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp. agave syrup or maple syrup
2 tbsp. onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced (optional)
Tempeh Preparation Method
  1. If frozen, thaw 1 block of tempeh (approx 240 grams or 8½ oz.) just enough to be able to cut through. Cut lengthwise into 10 equal strips.               
  2. Place in a casserole dish and pour the marinade over.                            
  3. Marinate in the fridge for 8-12 hours. Eat uncooked (yes, it it possible to eat raw tempeh) or bake in the oven at 350°F covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for approximately 10 minutes, or until the marinade is absorbed.
