On June 22nd, 2010, four Chinese Librarians visited the Rutgers Univeristy Library in New Brunswick. In the morning, the visitors were accompanied by Rutgers University Librarians on a tour of their digital library, from digitization to the end products. The visitors then jointed the library's cabinet meeting to meet with the library director and associate directors. After the meeting, they were invited for lunch with the cabinet members.
In the afternoon, three of the visitors, Zhou Li, Yue Wu, and Zheng Wu presented their library's projects in front of a group of audience in Alexander Library at Rutgers University Library. The program went very well. It was a good opportunity for librarians from both China and the U.S. to exchange information and ideas about library development and management.
The Rutgers program was coordinated by CALA Northeast Chapter President, Li Sun and CALA Executive Director, Haipeng Li, both of whom work at the Rutgers Univerisity Library.
The visitors returned to NYC, and CALA Northeast Chapter past Presidents, Maria Fung and Songqian Lu hosted them for dinner.
