Invitation: CALA/NE Chapter is excited to invite its members and interested librarians to
attend the upcoming
"Future Development and Service of Global Children’s Librarianship Conference", which takes place August 8-10, 2011 in New York City.

About the Conference
The Future Development and Service of Global Children’s Librarianship conference
is sponsored by the Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) and the Library Society
of China (LSC), and hosted by four libraries in NYC: the C.V.Starr East Asian Library of
Columbia University, and
three of the most dynamic and comprehensive library systems
in the United States:
the Brooklyn Public Library, Queens Library, and the New York Public Library.  A delegation of 80 library administrators from China's academic and public libraries
will join American librarians at this conference. The conference will include a series of presentations and discussions which will focus on library services to the youth, technological development in libraries, and ways to collaborate nationally and internationally. The conference is the first of its kind sponsored by Chinese  and American library associations on this topic and will have long term impact on librarianship in both countries.
