Teddy Bear Pan


This adorable teddy bear is perfect for children and adults of all ages



The Traditional Teddy

Materials:
1. cake - this pan takes one box mix or one two-layer cake
2. a batch of frosting - about 3 cups
3. brown food coloring/dye
4. pink food coloring/dye
5. black food coloring/dye
6. tip #16
7. a spatula/knife
8. toothpicks
9. tin foil

Time:
To bake - about 35 minutes but check the recipe
To decorate - about 2 hours. Beware, the star technique is time consuming!
Total - about 3 hours

Decorate:
1. Bake and cool cake
2. Prepare cake surface by covering it in tin foil
3. Prepare frosting - all thin consistency
4. Dye 1/2 cup of frosting light brown
5. Dye a small amount of frosting pink
6. Dye a small amount of frosting black
7. Leave a small amount of frosting white
8. Dye the rest of the frosting dark brown
9. Use toothpicks to make circles of white frosting above the nose - these are the eyes
10. Use toothpicks and the black frosting to make pupils in the eyes
11. Outline the smile and nostrils of the bear using black frosting and toothpicks
12. Use tip #16 and light brown frosting to make stars covering the entire nose
13. Use the spatula and light brown frosting to fill in the inner ears, the palms, and the insoles of the feet
14. Use the pink frosting and the toothpicks to make the heart on the chest of the bear
15. Use tip #16 and the dark brown frosting to cover the rest of the bear in stars



Note: It is recommended to apply a thin layer of frosting on your cake before applying the stars. Otherwise you will have to be very careful with the spacing of the stars. If you want to add this extra layer, you will have to adjust the directions and materials list.

 
 
 
 
Dracula

Materials:
1. Cake - this pan takes one cake mix or one two-layer cake
2. two batches of frosting - about 6 cups
3. black food coloring/dye
4. green food coloring/dye
5. red food coloring/dye
6. purple food coloring/dye
7. tip #16
8. tip #3
9. a spatula/knife
10. roll-out cookie dough (sugar cookies)
11. toothpicks
12. tin foil

Time:
To bake - about 35 minutes but check the recipe
To decorate - about 3 hours. Beware the star technique is time consuming!
Total - about 4 hours

Decorate:
1. Bake and cool cake
2. Bake sugar cookies in the shape of a cape, dracula hands, and dracula feet
3. Prepare cake surface by covering it in tin foil
4. Place cake on top of the cookie cape
5. Prepare icing - all thin
6. Attach hands and feet to cake using frosting
7. Dye a cup of frosting green
8. Dye a cup of frosting a dark purple
9. Dye 3/4 cup of frosting red
10. Dye two cups of frosting black
11. Dye a cup of frosting grey (use black food coloring/dye in a small amount)
12. Leave 1/4 cup of frosting white
13. Use the spatula and the red frosting to frost the cape
14. Put a thin borer of black frosting around the cape
15. Use the spatula and the black frosting to frost the feet
16. Use the spatula and the green frosting to frost the hands
17. Use the star technique (tip #16) and the grey frosting to decorate the pants
18. Use the star technique (tip #16) and the purple frosting to decorate the jacket - leave spaces for the cuffs and the breast
19. Use the star technique (tip #16) and the white frosting to decorate the cuffs and the breast
20. Use the star technique (tip #16) and the green frosting to decorate the face. Make a build up of stars where the nose should be
21. Use tip #16 and the black frosting to decorate the hair. To do the hair you want to start by creating a star but keep squeezing as you
      pull your bag away
22. Use toothpicks and the white frosting to make eyes for dracula
23. Use tip #3 and black frosting to make pupils in the eyes and eyebrows
24. Use tip #3 and black frosting to decorate the mouth
25. Use tip #3 and white frosting to add teeth in the mouth
