baked chicken steak rice : boston kitchen
baked chicken steak rice : boston kitchen
sometime previously, i had posted a pic of the baked porkchop rice dish at a hong kong style cafe. so today, i visited a new place called "boston kitchen" (which is a sister restaurant to "boston cafe" about 3 miles away and ordered their baked chicken steak rice to compare. the presentation was really nice but too saucy for this dish typically. it was also too tomatoey in a way. i actually like the porkchop version better for this as i don't like eating chicken skin. but the flavors were pretty good. as i mentioned this is the sister restaurant of another hong kong style cafe nearby so i thought i'd give it a try. overall, it was decent and had a nice decor. it's in a locatoin that used to be a kentucky fried chicken so you can imagine the size is small! i'm sure they will do well here. this place opens till 4am! O_o and i'm sure will attract a lot of the younger set here. as well as drive by shootings. ha. i'll order the pork chop version next time!
Kitchen - Tofu King
Kitchen - Tofu King
Upon first impressions, Tofu King ??? seems like another commercial looking Malaysian restaurant serving ??? Yong Tofu, beancurd and other morsels stuffed with fish mousse. But with ???? Hainanese Noodles joining ???? Curry Laksa, ?? Penang Prawn Noodle, ???? Assam Laksa on the top row of the menu, perhaps it is worthy of the prime location on Swanston Street. For the first day of operation, the staff seem clued-up and friendly. I'll have to check back next time for the ??? Yong Tofu! After all, the name of the shop, ???, means three stuffed treasures in Chinese! Tofu King ??? 305-307 Swanston St Melbourne 3000 (03) 9650 0068
