What's the ETC?

The Brigham Young University Experimental Theatre Company (ETC) has been producing shows at BYU since June 2006.  The ETC strives to provide opportunities for BYU students to more deeply explore what they learn in the classroom.  Our four main areas of focus are:
  • Artistic (act, direct, write, design)
  • Technical (production experience)
  • Research (dramaturgy)
  • Business (publicity, finances, management)
  • We seek to explore alternative, as well as traditional, forms of theatre not generally produced through the university.

We believe that as we support curriculum and continue to provide outside-the-classroom experience to students, those involved will leave BYU better prepared for graduate and professional work in the arts.
