Sediment Filter Bag

sediment filter bag
    sediment filter
  • A filter designed to strain out particles. Sediment filters normally do not remove chemical contaminants.
  • Put (something) in a bag
  • (of a hunter) Succeed in killing or catching an animal
  • a flexible container with a single opening; "he stuffed his laundry into a large bag"
  • Succeed in securing (something)
  • hang loosely, like an empty bag
  • capture or kill, as in hunting; "bag a few pheasants"

Sediment Water Filter Media is a filtration media that is used to remove suspended solids from drinking water. Typically used in water filter tanks to remove suspended solids down to 40 micron before other water filtration stages. How Sediment Removal Media works: CQ-S 100 sediment media has many advantages over conventional granular sediment medias. Its fractured edges and irregular surface provide a higher surface area and complex flow path for efficient removal of suspended matter throughout the filter bed. In a typical whole house sediment system, suspended solids are reduced down to 20-40 micron size. CQ-S 100 media due to larger particles size creates less pressure loss through the filter, and allows for deeper penetration into the filter for higher sediment capacity and longer runs. This larger irregular shape prevents screening and caking of sediment at the top several inches of media (which is a common problem for sediment removal systems such as sand filters). CQ-S 100 media is a light weight media, which means lower backwash rates, and better bed expansion to release trapped sediment. This also allows for better rinse of filter media during the backwash cycle. The ideal combination of light weight, shape and size of particles makes this sediment media an excellent choice where quality water filtration and water conservation are important. This way of drinking coffee was totally unfamiliar to me when we moved to the UK, but I actually prefer it now over the way most Americans prepare it in a filtered coffee maker. First, you grind fresh coffee beans to a very coarse stage, and pour hot water (not boiling or it will scorch the coffee grounds) into the cafetiere. Stir vigorously for a couple of seconds; and if you get a brown crema on top, you know your beans were fresh. After waiting 3 to 4 minutes, you then push the little plunger down to the bottom: it contains a wire mesh that catches the grounds, but lets the liquid pass through it. Pour slowly so as not to stir up the sediment and enjoy a wonderfully tasty cup of java! By the way, keep your beans in the freezer for best results once you have broken the vacuum seal on the bag. And don't grind any more coffee than you will need to use, since it tends to go stale quite quickly.

HAWTHORN BERRY BRANDY: Fill a glass jar or bottle with ripe Hawthorn berries and cover with brandy. Store in a dark place and shake daily for two weeks. Strain through a jelly bag or some muslin, then through a coffee filter (alternatively you can let it sit for a couple of days for the sediment to settle and siphon off the clear part). Nice to sip like sherry, brilliant for coffee induced palpitations and stage fright by Euri Vidal
