Course Descriptions:

2 Hour Course:

This will be 8-10 miles on bike, foot and canoe.  Biking will mostly be on established double-track paths or trails, so a proper mountain bike is not required or necessary, but may be the best option.  There will be some off trail hiking, so long pants or appropriate clothing is recommended.  And since we have a nice big lake to play with this year, expect some true canoe paddling!  We are very excited to add more to our paddle element this year, this course will be a lot of fun!

6 Hour Course:

This will be 15-25 miles on bike, foot and canoe.  Expected winning time is 5-6 hours.  This course will take you throughout the park, and take advantage of the lake to introduce a canoe paddle element.  A proper mountain bike is required, as there will be a nice mountain bike section (unless it rains!).  Even if it doesn't rain, you are pretty much guaranteed to get wet and muddy (as always).  There is a lot of ground to cover in this park, so be prepared to go to areas you never knew existed because we will take you there!

For both courses, the canoes, paddles, and PFD's will be provided by the race.

Camping:

We do have the campsite reserved for the Friday night before the race.  Campsites cost $6/night, payable to IRVOC.  If any one would like to join the race directors in roughing it the night before, we'd love to have some company!

Volunteering:

Want to check out the race without racing?  Volunteering is an excellent way to participate and get the feel of the race if you are unsure you are ready to give it a go.  We are in need of a few extra hands race day, so please contact us at irvocmail@gmail.com if you would like to help out!
