In case you've been hiding under a rock and you've missed the commotion up to this point: The word "Pokemon" refers to a series of 150 different "pocket monsters" that you are challenged to collect, trade, and nurture in hopes of becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer in the world. You use your monsters to help in battle against other trainers. Kids love collecting these pocket monsters, and they'll love it even more when they get a load of POKEMON: Crystal Version. A follow-up to the Gold and Silver editions of the handheld POKEMON saga, the Crystal Version offers enhancements and updates that will keep little trainers going for hours on end. Play as a male or female trainer, collecting, and schooling growing monsters for tournament-style combat. You'll be aided by an unusual Suicune creature, which serves as the next generation of Pikachu. Play alone or take on a friend in this addicting masterpiece

Pokemon Crystal is to Pokemon Gold and Silver what Pokemon Yellow is to Pokemon Red and Blue. It features several minor upgrades from its predecessors, but in essence it's still the same game. The classic Pokemon formula of adventuring, collecting, and battling is at a series best with Crystal. This is one of the best and most addictive role-playing games for the Game Boy Color.
The most notable feature is the selectable female trainer who has her own set of animations and backgrounds. This is a great option for female Pokemon fans who were previously stuck playing the game as a male character. There are also subtle improvements to the cell phone system, HM moves, and prebattle animations. Rival trainers' phone calls are now more plentiful and pragmatic. HM moves, which are required throughout the game, are available at the push of a button--you'll no longer have to navigate menus to use these moves. Lastly, seeing a Pokemon's new animation makes encountering new creatures more fun than before.
If you haven't played Gold or Silver yet, Crystal is definitely the way to go. If you've played those previous games, Crystal has only enough new features to justify a purchase from Pokemon fanatics. This game is compatible with the link cable, Game Boy printer, and Pokemon Pikachu 2. It's playable on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance only, and can be played on a television using Pokemon Stadium 2 and a Transfer Pak. --Raymond M. Padilla

NEW Pokemon game coming out......You will wai for ALONG LONG LONG TIME. Pokemon HeartGold Version (Japanese: ????????? ??????? Pocket Monsters Heartgold) and Pokemon SoulSilver Version (Japanese: ????????? ??????? Pocket Monsters Soulsilver) are paired Generation IV remakes of the Generation II games Pokemon Gold and Silver. Much like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen revisited the Generation I story of Kanto, HeartGold and SoulSilver will revisit the story of Johto, with the player's starting area being New Bark Town. As there are no definitive details about the games yet, it is currently unknown whether or not changes to the plot and course of the original games will be made. What is currently known, however, is that the geography of New Bark Town, while updated, has not changed. The player's rival, Silver, lurks outside of Professor Elm's lab as he did in Generation II. Like FireRed and LeafGreen, it is assumed that several enhancements will be made to the games to bring them up to speed with Generation IV, including adding features and Pokemon introduced in Generations III and IV. It has also been confirmed that brand new features, never before seen in the series, will be introduced. As indicated by data in Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, these games are highly likely to be compatible with the Sinnoh three for battling and trading, though like FireRed and LeafGreen, certain objectives might need to be accomplished beforehand. Kris, despite being the female counterpart of Crystal's player character Gold, is not included as the female counterpart, with a new character instead taking her place. Changes from Pokemon Gold and Silver Aesthetic changes Gold's artwork has been redesigned while a new character apparently replaces Kris. The DS's 3D capabilities are utilized in selecting the starter Pokemon. An image of the location, similar to that of FireRed and LeafGreen, appears when entering a new location. Locations have been redesigned to be similar to Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. The PokeGear has been redesigned. Now, it features two designs, one blue and white for males and another white and pink for females. While it can still be hung by a strap (as seen by the new female), it can also be worn as a watch, an apparent replacement for a Poketch (as seen by Gold) The clouds and trees in Ilex Forest cast shadows that cover the ground. Gameplay changes The player's starter will follow them, similar to Pikachu in Yellow. More specific details are currently unknown. Similarly to the event Shaymin and Regigigas's effect on Platinum, the Pikachu-colored Pichu to be given to those who have pre-ordered tickets to the twelfth movie will unlock an event near the Ilex Forest Shrine featuring the Notched-ear Pichu. The screen that pops up when pressing the Start or X buttons in the previous games appears on the touch screen instead. Location changes Elm's Lab has an upstairs level. Trivia These games will mark the tenth anniversary since the release of the original Gold and Silver Versions for Game Boy Color. As remakes, these games have been speculated since the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. The games' engine seems to be based on that of Pokemon Platinum. The reverse happened in Generation III, where Pokemon Emerald was based on FireRed and LeafGreen's engine.
