Blog Day 15
Today’s Date: July 25, 2011 Tomorrow is my weekly weigh in… I feel pretty confident, but no matter the result I can feel a bit of a difference in how I feel and I cannot be too far off if I am at all. Today’s feature involves a bit of a story. When I went to Las Vegas last fall I went to the Prime Steakhouse at the Bellagio hotel. Amazing food… and that’s just barely the best description I could find. One of the sides that I had was a citrus Caesar salad, which was basically a strong lemon-based Caesar salad. I could not get enough of it… it was just so wonderful (as was the steak that followed!!!). When I got back, I now order an extra side of lemons whenever I get a Caesar salad at a restaurant. The added zing of lemons just makes all the difference in the world. It inspires me to eat more salad which can only be a good thing, right? Well, when I began tracking all of my data through Lose It (Calories, fat, carbs, saturated fat, etc.), I could not get my fat intake down, mostly because of this dressing. I was bummed. Even more bummed that they did not make a light creamy Caesar dressing. I found this Ken’s lite Caesar dressing. It has a lot less fat, but a lot less taste as well… it was hard to go with the lighter dressing, and I found myself eating less salads and veggies. I have decided to shift all other foods in my daily diet to accommodate using the Newman’s Own dressing. I gobbled up my salad tonight, again only using 2 tablespoons… what a difference it made in my desire for veggies! I will see just how that plays out for me… here’s hoping it works well.
