Alachua County Farmer's Market Cash Mob, A Success!!

If you didn't make it out to the Alachua County Farmer's Market - otherwise known as the "441 Market" this past Saturday, you missed quite an event! The cash mob, which asked people to come visit the market with $20 and do their weekly produce shopping was a huge hit.  Generating approximately $23,000 in sales, the event helped our local food economy and helped educate people about the importance of fresh, local food.  Buy Local North Central Florida helped host the event and were there to share our message about the importance of buying locally.  We are thankful to all who came out to support our farmers and all the great community organizations who helped make it a success!
