1). name: Shannon Most Various Aliases: "The Unitripper, KoKo B. Ware, Twinkie the Kid, Shower Dude, The electric Gigolo, and Big Wally." 2) where are you from? where did you grow up? I grew up in Lansing Michigan, -Magic Johnson, Marcus Taylor, John Scholtz, etc. Kind of a factory town of GM workers, state employees, teachers and a college town with MSU next door. I met Trent at AU in 96' and from there began doing drugs. 3) where do you live now? California 4) favorite team/teams For Hoop: Michigan State, Eastern Michigan U., Western Michigan U, University of Detroit, Valpo, San Diego State, Akron University, Kent State, St. Joes, Small schools under 10k, "Amish teams, teams w/ small hooved mascots, the enfeebled, and the AFL-CIO Local 232 all stars"? (Ferris State - Hockey, The Tigers - Baseball) And if I may, the 89' Pistons. 5) least favorite team/teams: Michigan, Duke, Kentucky, Seton Hall, UConn, Florida, UNC, Wisconsin (Bo Ryan) , Stanford, Arizona, East Coast/West coast, UNLV, Georgetown, Missouri Decades of anger. 6) favorite memory of march madness Some how I was present for all 3 of the Michigan State Riots in the late 90's/00's. I would say when MSU beat the Iowa State Cyclones in 2001, their toughest opponent, and then beat those bastards from Florida, I was generally satisfied. (Football and basketball, I think not.) I remember being at the Cedar Village apartments with friends watching the action and when the game was over I looked outside to see a crowd of roughly 5000 students getting rowdy over the victory and moving in the direction of Grand River Avenue, the East Lansing business district, where previous entanglement had taken place in years past. The 11 o'clock news showed students pelting a Taco Bell with frozen beer cans while burning couches in the middle of the street. Policeman on horses shot tear gas while pockets of Bedlam raged on until 5 in the morning. Streets remained closed the next day due to so much debris and broken glass. Madness? This is March madness. 7) best cinderella team in recent memory I can't remember who it was but I think the Richmond spiders ranked 15th sent someone packing 6 years ago. Duke getting bumped out early in 2004 - sweat. My money this year is on the Ivy League or the Big Sky conference, they're over due for a cinderella story. Final thoughts, try to boycott MTV. It causes group think, maladapted behavior and unproductive work habits. There's nothing wrong with having a job and being respectful. It fuels economy. Also, these reality programs don't create trust. We were told not to trust anyone over 30 back in the 70's, why can't we extend this cop out slogan to the cast of Survivor and The Apprentice? I'm so disappointed in the internet. Its time Americans join together and begin demanding a slower way. 8)Worst announcer. Packer - too easy. How bout Rafferty this year. -"With a kiss"..."And a dunk... for tha' big fella." Bring back Gus Johnson! 9)Favorite moment from 2005 tourney? a)Hmm. MSU beating Duke. Then taking over joyed family calls late into the night. And of course shaking dozens of new on-line hands - "Friends of the Program". And wasn't that a magnificent mystery appearance from the "MSU Poet", a sort of Scarlett Pimpernel. Maybe Trent you could even dig up that bold piece of rhyming he proclaimed like a Lutheran, predicting victory way before it was actualized. Then, with both barrels still blazing Spartacus beat Kentucky with spoiled son Saul Smith watching from the background. Then sadly, battered from the brown pipe assaults, they just didn't have the strength to overtake the Tar Heels. Boy sent to do a man's job? Well..., had they won, encountering "Staggering Bruce Blowhard" (Illini) for the 3rd time would have been just another undesirable game of yelling and flagrant fouls. b)W. Virgina's up hill battle against the pesky Creighton Blue Jays, thank goodness WV are mountaineers. Then the game of "a thousand baskets" against Wake Forest from the help of some "Curly Neil" style three point shooting. And of course the sea-saw battle with Texas Tech. Those "hicks" had a lot of heart. c)No. 12 UW-Milwaukee trick rolling Bama - 5 then not cooperating with BC-4 proving the Horizon League is still Ghetto fabuloso. Laughing from afar - Shannon Ramsey Most 10)Favorite memory 2006? -a)The free bottles of homemade Blackberry hooch given to us by the house owners. -b)Stopping for what I thought was glass on a pittsburgh sidestreet, to my surprise was actually just sunlight on the road itself. (my first haluciation/"strange road") Ketchum was there. -c)From 2yrs ago, the unique, yet oddly peculiar bridge graffitti noticed by our group walking in town for supplies. "ain't life funny, when the clocks 420, you ain't got money but cha wanna get high." When the minute
NHL Game Center Live can Suck It.
NHL Game Center Live can Suck It.
If you're considering NHL Game Center Live, I highly encourage you to *read the fine print*. There is no "month by month" option - only the option to pay for a full year up front, or pay for a full year in monthly installments. No matter how you slice it, you're paying for a full season. Also, despite being called "Game Center Live" nothing is actually live... pretty much everything of interest is blacked out for 48 hours. Game Center Archives would be a more accurate description. Or Game Center Radio. If you live on the west coast, and you're interested in an east coast team - and it's not a play off game... it might be worth the money. But that is literally the only scenario that it might be worth it. Moral of this story: NHL won't be seeing me at any games next season, since they're getting 40 more dollars from me this season that I was actually interested in giving them, for a service that was ultimately a waste of money from the word go. I guess it's not a multi-billion industry for no reason - but I think I'm over the shenanigans.
