Visualization: The species list shows by default the male upper side of every species. Touching the symbols ♂ and ♀ at the bottom left corner you can switch from the male to the female; touching the upper side and under side symbols at the bottom central you can switch from the upper side to the under side.
In the comparison view (see below) both male and female of the species are shown. Touching the upper side and under side symbols at the top central you can switch from their upper side to their under side.
Identification page: Select all the information available for the specimen that you want to identify.
Note: it is not necessary to fill all the fields shown in the identification page.
At the bottom right corner of the page, the button “SHOW ... SPECIES” gives the number of species fitting with the information that you have entered. Adding additional information the number of fitting species will become smaller and smaller. At any stage touching the button “SHOW ... SPECIES” you will be given the list of the species fitting with your input.
To compare each other those species you can touch the symbol at the bottom right corner to view male and female of the species in two independently scrolling columns (comparison view).
In the comparison view, in order to make it easier the identification of a butterfly, you can touch the camera symbol at the top right and insert your photo of that butterfly from your album.
Species data sheets: In the species data sheets all the images, except the distribution maps and the real size picture, can be enlarged by double tipping them. This will allow you to see the smallest details of the butterfly or of the caterpillar.
