Sponsored by the Avon Coalition for Every Student.
Through a collaborative effort of community-spirited individuals, agencies,
businesses and organizations, Avon Coalition for Every Student (ACES)
seeks partnerships to foster efforts to reduce youth substance abuse and
promote positive, healthy decisions by young people in Avon.
ACES has funding available to bring in speakers for parents and to help start a regular parent café.
Parent café’s are where once a month, parents come out to discuss (with other parents) topic that
may concern them and their kids.
This is a way for parents to meet other parents and also hear about ways to help their kids stay
healthy. The YMCA will facilitate the discussions and also watch any of the kids for free. The YMCA is
able to do the parent cafes following the aftercare program so parents would not have to come back
out, but just stay for an hour when they pick up their kids.

How would you like to get picked up and brought to school on Avon’s Ladder Fire Truck?
In observation of fire safety week the Avon Fire Department has teamed up with the Avon School Association (ASA). The ASA will be selling raffle tickets to students/families of the Butler School with the lucky winner getting a ride of a lifetime. The winner will be picked up at his or her house on Friday, October 11th. The winner can invite two guests and all three will ride to school on Avon’s Ladder Truck. If a student is not a resident of Avon, he or she may choose either to get picked up at a friend’s house or start their ride from the Avon Fire Station.
All the money raised will help the ASA fund field trips and other activities for the students and families of the Butler School. The winner will be drawn on October 9th during morning announcements.
Raffle tickets are $1 each.
Please complete the bottom portion of this form, attach money or check and return to the school office by Tues. October 8th.
Each opportunity you buy enters you into the drawing and increases your chances of winning.
