• Antique and Vintage Button Collection

For this special gathering, we will be welcoming Martha Scott who will showcase Lenora Milloy’s button collection. She will share a history of button collecting (and it's continued popularity!) along with how buttons reflected social status in society (and other neat stuff!). She will survey the various types of materials and art genres that have contributed to button making, ranging from bronze, bone, enamel, glass, pearl, and even lithography. The importance of selecting the right button for a finished project will be highlighted so you can showcase your own favourite button.  Many of the buttons she will show are between 100 – 150 years old. We look forward to taking this journey with Martha back in time to discover more about buttons!
