• Dani Ortman, guest speaker will talk speak about her path as a weaver - which has largely been about about pushing to make a place for 'handwoven' in a North-American market that is saturated with cheaper (mass-produced) scarf and accessory options.

In 2007 I first sat down to a loom.  I fell head over heals.  I was also young and stubborn and determined to make hand-weaving my full-time career.  The decision has not provided a lavish lifestyle, but it has allowed most of my waking hours to be dedicated to weaving and dyeing.  I will share my approach 'making-it' as a handweaver in the 21st century, with a show and tell session - material sourcing guide - and much more!
