The information below pertains to your presentation at the Summer Meeting 2021. The program is currently being scheduled, and additional instructions will be provided at a later time. You are invited to return to this page to see if there have been any changes.
Each talk will have a 12-minute time slot. This time should include your 10-minute talk as well as time for Q&A.
There will be up to four 12-minute time slots in each technical session; each session will last 1 hour.
After each session, there will be a 5 to 10 minutes break.
Each presentation will have a 3-minute time slot. (Single slide Presentation)
No Q&A during the presentation.
10 min Q&A at the end of Presentation.
The aim of the MMMRN Summer Meeting 2021 is to provide a virtual platform for the current members and alumni of the group to share, present, and exchange ideas of their current research. This will create a more collaborative environment in the group and help the young researchers to receive feedback on their works and broaden their knowledge. We encourage young researchers outside the group as well to submit abstracts on their current projects.
The following topics are of particular interest to the meeting, but the list is not exhaustive. Any exciting idea is always welcome apart from this list. Young researchers are also encouraged to submit their research ideas and any initial progress which can be considered for the “Elevator Speech” poster presentation category after review.
Single-/two-phase liquid cooling
Micro/nanoscale thermal transport
Heat sink design and optimization
High density data center cooling
Thermal energy storage
Reliability of electronic packages
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
Nanomechanics and nanomaterials
Finite element modeling of multiphysics phenomena
Numerical methods for solids and fluids
Soft and active materials
Biomechanics and biofluids
Multifunctional and high-performance composite materials
Metal and polymer additive manufacturing
Data-driven mechanics and materials design
Below are the guidelines/instructions for submitting your abstract/poster/elevator speech. Please read them carefully before beginning your submission.
Please use this link of submission: https://forms.gle/fDisT5RhJ62F4Vgv6 . The deadline for abstract submission is May 15, 2021 June 10, 2021.
In the submission form, provide your title, author list, corresponding (presenting) author email, and contact.
Choose a suitable track from the dropdown menu and provide the relevant keywords of your submission.
Participants may be an author on multiple abstracts but can be the presenting author of only one abstract.
Abstracts are to be submitted as text only with a limit of 400 words.
Your abstract must contain a summary of your presentation as well as describe the principal contributions to the field. Up to three references may be included in the abstract and will be counted toward the 400 words.
No figures or equations are allowed in abstract.
When entering the title, use the 'title' case (capitalize only the first letter of each significant word). Do not enter the title in all caps or capitalize the letter of the first word only.
Be sure to enter all the authors with their affiliations and email addresses. Limit the affiliation for each author to the name of institution, company, or university only.
Do NOT provide mailing address or department name with the affiliation.
Once successfully submitted, the submitter will receive an email notification that the abstract/poster has been received.
Your submission will be reviewed by the organizers of your selected track. We anticipate that notification of your submission acceptance or rejection will be sent to the presenting author 30 days after the close of submission as published on the meeting website.
Based on the number of abstract submissions, they will be divided into two categories – presentation and elevator speech. In presentation categories, participants will be allowed 10 minutes presentation of the work and 3-5 minutes on Q&A and feedback. In elevator speech category, participants will be asked to make a single-page poster for 3-minute presentation. Abstracts indicating some preliminary results will likely to be categorized in presentation and abstracts with new ideas will likely to be categorized in elevator speech category.
Based on the abstract, presentation, and poster presentation, three winners will be selected from each category. These winners will be awarded gifts for their contribution to research.
