I started my career in higher education at Genesee Community College, in Batavia, NY. I am very grateful to have had an opportunity to attend a community college. My experiences there have helped make me who I am today.
After graduating from the community college, I transferred to Buffalo State College, in Buffalo, NY, where I completed a BS in Mathematics, with a minor in Secondary Education. My goal was to teach mathematics at the high school level.
I taught high school for two years and needed to work on a master's degree in order to keep my teacher certification, so I began a master's program in Mathematics at the University at Buffalo (UB), in Buffalo, NY.
While in graduate school at UB, I was teaching mathematics at the college level and knew that this was I wanted to do for my career. After completing my MA in Mathematics, I continued at UB, graduating with PhD in Mathematics Education.
Although it is difficult to believe that I have spent 15 years in college, I am seriously considering going back to school for another degree!
