GriefShare

This program reaches out to people hurting from the loss of a loved one due to their death.

Beautiful Savior Church will host GriefShare in the future, but temporarily is taking a break for session leaders' renewal.

You are encouraged to attend the same content at other area churches. -- Find a location near you via the main GriefShare website:  www.GriefShare.org

WHEN WE RESUME...

The day & time for each of the 13 weekly sessions will be announced. Participants often comment that they look forward to these meetings, as if it was their second family who understands the mix of emotions they are experiencing.

GriefShare is an important outreach to the community.  It is based upon the Bible and the Trinity; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The participants come from all walks of life and from many different religious backgrounds.  We do not discuss religious doctrine nor politics.  We focus on the ways faith in God can help heal and deal with each person's personal loss.

IMPORTANT:

  • Participants do not have to start with Session 1; think of these videos & discussions as an urgent care clinic, where we do not make you wait for our convenience... we are here for YOU.
  • Seminars are held in the conference room of the Wayman Still Administration Bldg. (near the back end of the large parking lot).

Helping people through the grieving process.

If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you may have sensed people don't understand the pain you feel. This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have questions about things you’ve never faced. GriefShare groups meet weekly to help people     explore these challenges and move toward rebuilding their lives.

We understand that there are other losses in life that create feelings of grief. You might be experiencing a job loss, a divorce, estrangement from a child, or the loss of friends because of a move. This grief is real, but it is not the kind of grief discussed in GriefShare sessions. We encourage you to ask a pastor, counselor, or church leader for help in finding resources that will be of specific help in your situation.

GriefShare Meetings

GriefShare meetings include a video seminar and group discussion. A GriefShare workbook    assists you with note-taking and journaling. The videos feature experts on grief recovery and real-life stories of people who have experienced losses like yours. After the video, there’s discussion time to help process what you’ve heard.

Recent participants have said:

·        “I love the camaraderie and being able to share my feelings”

·        “It has helped me through the year—the fog is lifting and I’m starting to see again.”

·        “They let me know my feelings and thoughts were OK.”

Anyone can join the GriefShare series even after the first session; all videos and discussion    topics stand on their own merit, where you do not need to have viewed the prior material to        find benefit from that week's video & discussion.

There is a personal workbook (over 100 pages) that will help you heal faster when you use this tool. To cover our costs, we ask for a $15 donation for the workbook.

These seminars are for anyone: both church members and even those who don’t have a relationship with Jesus.
