Homeless Ministry -- Bring a Blessing Bag

posted May 4, 2018, 8:18 AM by Beautiful Savior   [ updated Mar 21, 2019, 11:21 AM ]

Help us help others in our community by building & bringing your "Blessing Bags" for those who are currently homeless.

Use the 1-gallon Ziploc Bags and fill the bags with the following suggested items:

  • Adult socks
  • Snacks – granola bars, cheese and crackers, fruit cups, etc.
  • Nutrition/protein bars
  • Bottled water/juice box
  • Hand wipes
  • Mini tissue packs
  • Toothbrushes
  • Small tubes of toothpaste, floss
  • $5.00 McDonalds gift cards

There are loads of additional items that can be added to the list, including other personal care items like a bar of soap, deodorant, combs, sunscreen, band-aids, Chapstick as well as non-perishable food items like beef jerky, raisins, peanuts or gum.

You can find small and affordable priced items at the Dollar Store or at the Red Barn Flea Market.

We have included a bible verse, helpful information with phone numbers and Beautiful Savior’s business card in the Ziplock Bags. Please return the filled Blessing Bags to Beautiful Savior before the end of March, place them in one of the bins located by each entrance door and Stewardship will deliver them to a homeless shelter.

We suggest that you take a quantity of 3 Blessing Bags to fill, since most of the items at the Dollar Store are packaged in quantities of 3.
