Journey to Europe. Board your overnight flight and arrive in Paris on the following morning.
In the morning we will travel north into the French countryside to the Normandy district. On our way to Normandy we will stop in Giverny to visit the home of painter Claude Monet. Tour his home and the Foundation Claude Monet. In the afternoon visit the WW II Memorial Museum including the Peace Garden. Dinner and evening stroll in Caen. Overnight in Caen.
Continue our travel through the breath-taking Normandy district. Visit Omaha Beach and travel along the D-Day beaches. We will also visit the U.S. Cemetery before heading west to the medieval center of Brittany. Along the way we will stop and visit Mont St. Michel and view the massive abbey anchored at the summit of a rocky island. Continue on to St. Malo, a former pirate outpost and major stronghold in WW II. Explore St. Malo by foot, taking in the fortress walls and nearby beach. Excellent shopping and sight-seeing abounds!
This morning we will make our way towards the beautiful Loire Valley. Today we will tour Chambord and Chenenceau, both breath-taking chateaux. On our way back to Paris we will also explore the historic Chartres Cathedral. Return to Paris in the evening.
Visit the historic Notre Dame cathedral. Opt to climb to the top of the tower and explore the Parisian Archaeological Crypts. After our visit inside the cathedral we will visit the Square Jean XXIII and the Jewish Deportation Memorial.
In the afternoon tour the Latin Quarter and the Boulevard Saint Michel. Free time for shopping and visiting the Pantheon or a stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens.
Today we will visit Place de la Concorde and have lunch on the Avenue des Champs Elysees – the “triumphal way”. Later we will view Napoleon’s Arc de Triomphe and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Afternoon tour of the Louvre and the Jardin des Tuileries. Spend the afternoon exploring this vast collection including the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and many other astounding works of art.
In the morning we will head to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a panoramic view of the ‘City of Love’. Free time exploring the Tower and the youthful Trocadero.
In the afternoon we will visit the Neo-Romanesque Sacre Couer cathedral and view Paris from above. Free time to mingle with the artists in the Montmartre.
Travel outside of Paris to the Palace of Versailles. View the private apartments of the king and queen, the Hall of Mirrors, and King Louis XIV’s Grand Canal.
Return to Paris for a bateau mouche ride!
Enjoy free time the rest of the day.
Return home from Paris!
