As you are aware the Brandywine School District Board of Education will vote tonight to approve the RIF proposed by the Brandywine School District. The agenda does not include "Public Comments on Agenda Items". The next scheduled meeting of the Board of Education is 5/24/10. We are already preparing for our opportunity to speak on behalf of the Paraeducators. However we need your support and participation.
Therefore, please submit your success stories or that of your colleagues to us. We need to let the Community know the integral part we all play in the education of their children. We all make a difference in their lives everyday. Thank you for all that you do for the students and each other.
Please contact me should you have any questions or comments.
Karen Kennedy, President
The Federation, Local 762

Are you aware that the Brandywine School District Board of Education unanimously voted to approve the Reduction in Force affecting 23 teachers and 43 paraprofessionals?
A paraprofessional who works for the Brandywine School District provides many services. Those services include the rendering of assistance in the areas of Reading, Mathamatics, Science, Behavioral Interventions, and the integration of special needs children into the classroom environment. The paraprofessionals affected by the Reduction in Force are an essential support element in the educational development of our children.
We need you, our elected official to restore the funding for education for fiscal year 2010/2011 and bring these jobs back. We also need your support by attending the Brandywine School District Board of Education Meeting on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 7pm in the Ben Ellis Room at our District Office.
Much thanks for the continued support of your constituents,
