Sea Base Follow-Up.
If you or your scout is interested in attending Sea Base next June, please send an e-mail to Mike Nelson at michael.nelson@klgates.com no later than Friday, March 23. Please provide your Scout’s date of birth and current Scout Rank. As noted earlier, if more than six scouts express interest, members of the crew will be selected based upon seniority. All families who contact Mr. Nelson will be notified of their status no later than Monday, March 26. Scouts selected for the Sea Base adventure will need to deliver a first deposit of $150 no later than April 3. We will also be creating a wait list in the event that one or more scouts drop out.
Michael DeVito Court of Honor – March 27th
Michael DeVito’s Eagle Court of Honor will be held during the regular Troop Meeting on March 27, 2018. Please join us in congratulating Michael on his accomplishment!
Summer Camp Information
Information regarding Summer Camp is on the website. Please plan on committing to summer camp ASAP. Forms will be available to register your son for summer camp at the March 20, 2018 meeting, or print out the forms below to bring to the meeting. Please commit to summer camp as soon as possible!
April Camping Trip - Cooks Forest
The permission slip for the April camping trip is on the website. The dates are April 20th – 22nd. Permission slips are due on April 3rd. No late slips will be accepted. We will be tent camping in the Organized Group Camping Area of Cooks Forest State Park. On Saturday, different groups will hike on some of the various trails located in Cooks Forest.
Scouting for Food:
Dates have been set for Scouting for Food. We will drop off door cards on Saturday April 7th, and pick-up, sort, and delivery food to the Food Bank on April 14th. Sign-up sheets for door tag distribution, food pick up, and sorting are on the website. A map of the routes has also been added. Please sign-up as soon as possible to help out!
Plumbing Merit Badge
Scouts who have not completed their plumbing merit badge requirements are asked to bring the materials needed to complete to the next Troop meeting.
Scholarship Opportunity!
Established in 1995 in honor of one of Pittsburgh’s most influential Scoutmasters, the Robert “Cubby” Bearer Memorial Scholarship recognizes an Eagle Scout from Western Pennsylvania who is enrolled (or plans to enroll) at the University of Pittsburgh and who has demonstrated high character, leadership ability, and financial need. The value of this one-time award is at least $3,800. Application Deadline: March 26, 2018

Upcoming PLC Meetings:
The next PLC meeting will be Wednesday April 4th at 7:30 at St. Maurice Keane Hall. All SPL, Patrol Leaders, or their designated assistants should plan to attend.
Upcoming Troop Committee Meetings:
The next Troop Committee meeting will be on April 8th at 7:30pm at Forrest Hills Presbyterian Church. All adults are welcome and encouraged to attend.
