Announcements: June 6

posted Jun 6, 2019, 5:27 AM by BSA Troop 90 Forest Hills, PA
Mr. DeVito announced on Tuesday that a spot has opened up for next summer's Philmont trip so if any Scout is interested in going, please contact him ASAP. If no Scout is interested, then the spot will be given to an adult who wants to go.

Please see my dedicated email on Summer Camp readiness. All paperwork is due June 25! We will be conducting our swim test next Tuesday, June 11 at the Forest Hills pool from 5:30-7:15 PM. Even if you're not going to summer camp, it's still good to take the test so that you can participate in any future aquatics activity (both Scouts and adults).

The June campout permission slip is due June 11. To help prepare for the museum tour, please visit the Air Force Museum website to preview the exhibits and planes you may be seeing there. The more you know the more you will get out of our visit.

For those going backpacking this coming weekend, please meet at FHPC on Saturday, June 8 at 7 AM SHARP. Plus Mr. Lessman created a "Packing Your Backpack for Philmont" which is on the website under Checklists.

The next Buck Night is Tuesday, June 18 from 6-7:30 PM. Here's is the sign-up sheet if you want to get first dibs:

We have an opportunity to volunteer at the Wilmerding Community Center (former Wilmerding YMCA @ 1 Memorial Field, Wilmerding, Pennsylvania 15148) to help them prepare for their grand opening this summer. Our Scouts are needed to work outside, laying down new weedblocker, fixing the landscaping, and cleaning up around the grounds and parking lots.
Scouts will earn SERVICE HOURS for helping. The clean up days will be Monday, June 24 and Wednesday, June 26. I've created a sign-up sheet for two shifts each of these two days.
