Leadership roles are a key component of Boy Scouts. A Troop consists of adult leaders and scout leaders. BSA encourages the scouts to run their own troop, therefore, the adult leaders primary role is to offer guidance and overall supervision of the individual scouts. Depending on rank, each scout is required to hold a leadership position in order to reach the next level.
Holding a leadership position provides the scouts an opportunity to perform real world tasks.
