Welcome to BSA Troop 740 North County Christmas Tree Recycling Site

Our scouts will be in your neighborhood in North St. Louis County each Saturday in January 2013 to pickup your Christmas tree curbside in exchange for a small suggested donation.  Thank You to the many residents who support our scouting efforts every year!!!

2013 is our 1st Annual Event

The Boy Scout troop 740  of Hazelwood MO will perform its first ever Christmas tree curbside pickup and recycling drive as an annual service project and fundraiser effort. Your donations are a critical part of our ability to provide a quality Scouting program for Hazelwood
and Florissant  youth. We thank you for your support. Funds raised by this project are used to pay for camping equipment and scouting activities such as summer camp and weekend outings.

We can pick up trees only from addresses in the North County area of St. Louis County Missouri

If you would like to have the scouts pick up your holiday tree you can register in one of two ways:

  • Web form to the left or click here:
  • Call 314-643-7003 and leave a voice-mail for pick-up (We will call you back with confirmation).

Tree must be on your driveway or at the curb by 8:00am on the day of the pick-up. We start picking up trees at 8am, but it will take all day to finish the job (and sometimes part of the next day), so your tree may not be picked up until much later in the day or Sunday.

The Do's

Please remove tree stands .

  • Please place the tree either on your porch, driveway or curbside in front of your residence. Trees need to be out before 8 AM before pickup begins.
  • Scouts ARE NOT ALLOWED to enter your premises under any circumstances.
  • Please ensure that your donation is mailed in prior to pickup day. Or you can put your check into a zip lock baggie and place the donation on the trunk of the tree with a rubber band.
                                             Two EASY ways to donate:

EASIEST - 1 - Mail a personal check into our troop treasurer (Sherri) her address is listed HERE:

EASIER - 2 - Please place your donation in an envelope.  The suggested donation is $10-$25 per tree. Seal the envelope and place it on the bottom of the tree with a rubber band.  Also please consider putting the envelope inside a small ziploc bag in bad weather.

Please place the tree curbside/porch/driveway. If that is not possible, place the tree at the nearest cross street corner. Trees need to be out before 8 AM before pickup begins.
The Don'ts

For safety reasons, we cannot accept trees with tinsel, flocked trees (fake snow), trees with nails, artificial trees, wreaths with metal shape wires, or trees with any other metal attached.  Thank you for your understanding.
