TROOP MEETINGS AND ACTIVITIES

Troop Meetings

The Troop holds meetings every Monday from 7:15 to 8:30. These meetings include fun activities as well as rank advancement.

Troop Activities

The troop does many activities throughout the year. Every year we hold a Turkey Shoot, a Rock Climbing Trip, and many other camping trips. We also attend the Klondike Derby every year to compete.

Summer Camp

Every year the Troop goes down to Rhode Island to the Yawgoog Scout Camp, usually the second session in July. The boys enjoy a week of working on merit badges and time with fellow scouts.

TROOP ORGANIZATION

Patrol Method

The Troop is split up into 3 patrols with their own patrol leadership structure.

Youth Leadership

The Troop is lead by a Senior Patrol Leader and there are many leadership positions to help scouts get leadership experience.

Adult Leadership

The Troop also has an adult leadership structure made up of a Scoutmaster, and a Troop Committee.

SCOUT UNIFORM AND EQUIPMENT

Scout Uniform

The Scout Uniform includes a button down scout shirt as well as many patches.

Equipment

The Troop has it's own equipment including tents, stoves and tool as well as equipment to lend out to scouts who do not have their own.

ADVANCEMENT

Rank Advancement

Boy Scouting has 7 ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star, Life and Eagle. The Troop helps scout to advance through these ranks through requirement work at meetings and on trips.

Merit Badges

Boy Scouting has many Merit Badges. The troop has many parent merit badge instructors who can work with the scouts through the process of earning merit badges.
