Dear Troop 13 Needham,

Dear Troop 13,

I have scheduled my Eagle Project for all day Saturday, July 22 and Sunday afternoon, July 23. I have attached a link to a doodle-poll at the bottom of this email. Please add your name and the times you can attend.

This Project will benefit the Needham Community Farm.   The NCF uses its land to teach the community how to work with plants and it also provides food to local food pantries. The NCF uses tables with a mesh top to clean off produce after harvest. The current tables do not have a properly cleanable surface or drainage systemsThey provide fresh food for people in our community. We will be building tables where the farm workers can wash harvested produce and have a proper washable surface and a drainage system, so volunteers are not standing in mud by the end of the work day.

The first workday, July 22, will be from 9 am to 4 pm and will take place at 483 Great Plain Ave.
The first day will consist of building parts of the table and testing to ensure they fit together. I will need scouts to bring carpentry tools, such as hammers, box squares, and saws, along with gloves and prepare to do woodwork. We will also be painting the materials. This day will be hosted at 483 Great Plain Avenue near Hazel's Bakery.

The second workday will be on July 23 12 pm - 4 pm at the farm.
The second day will meet at the farm to assemble the tables. Scouts will be needed to apply second coats for paint and to assemble parts of the tables. The farm is in the same location as the Dog Park at 145 Pine Street. There are signs when you get close to the turn-off.

Please bring work gloves, a water bottle, and safety glasses (if you have them). It would also be very helpful if you could bring hammers, screwdrivers, saws and other carpentry tools.

Here is the electronic signup sheet.  The Doodlepoll  Please send me an email if you have any questions.
