Wilderness First Aid Training

Troop 65 Scout Hut

The WFA course will introduce the participant to skills necessary to handle basic first aid emergencies in a wilderness setting. The course runs Friday (6:00 – 10:00pm) and Saturday (7:30am – 7:30 pm). Participants must be present for all sessions in order to receive completion card.

The course combines lecture with hands-on application of material covered in class. Successful completion of this course certifies the participant in WFA for a period of two years and meets the requirements for Philmont treks, SeaBase, and other high adventure camps.

Arrive in Class A uniform. Participants will need to bring a personal water bottle and note taking supplies. We will switch to a BSA field uniform for outside training and practice, so be certain to plan for any outdoor weather conditions. You will need provide your own meals and snacks for this course experience.  Camping facilities will be available for those wishing to spend the night.

The location is Troop 65 Scout Hut at Phildelphia Presbyterian Church.
