Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation

On May 6th, our council training committee will be hosting a BALOO orientation beginning at 7:30 that morning.  Instead of being part of our Spring Training Event on April 22nd at CPCC Levine, BALOO will be held at the weekend before at Belk Scout Camp, utilizing the Learning Development Center and nearby campsites.  BALOO is a one-day training event that introduces leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities, particularly Pack Family Camping.  Each Pack is required to have at least one BALOO trained adult participating in their Pack outdoor activities and Family Campouts.  Participants who complete this training will:

·         Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA Outdoor Program

·         Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout-level Pack Family Camp overnight activity

·         Learn more about the resources available from the BSA for carrying out these activities
