Committee Members

Troop 76 encourages all parents to become actively involved with the troop operations.  Our committee is composed of the scoutmaster and all assistant scoutmasters in addition to many other adults that manage various special chairs that guide the operations of our troop.  The committee meets the first Thursday of each month during the school year in the Parson's Study at First Christ Church in Simsbury at 7:30 PM.  All parents are welcome to attend the meetings.

Jay has been with Troop 76 since his son crossed-over from Webelos in 2004.  As a participating committee member, he has been active in the troop supporting campouts and service activities.  Early on, he also became involved in the Board of Reviews and took pride in seeing the boys progress through the ranks.  In 2007, this led Jay to accept the committee position to run the troop's rigorous Eagle Rank Advancement
process.  A Life Scout himself and having his son attain Eagle in 2010, Jay knows the importance of the Trail-to-Eagle.  He duly fulfills the Eagle Rank Advancement Coordinator position by giving every Life Scout in the troop the opportunity to earn the highest rank in scouting.
