The Farmington River trip is an annual trip that usually takes place during the third week of September. The first day we put the canoes and kayaks into the river off route 4 in Farmington and then the troop camps over night at Alsop Meadow in Avon. Webelos and their parents are also invited on the family oriented trip. The trip takes off Sunday morning for the second leg which brings us up into Simsbury where we take out just above the boathouse.
This is a really great trip for parents as it is close by and the paddling makes for a fun time on the river with your scout and his friends. Even scouts with serious sport commitments can manage this trip due to the close proximity to town. All scouts should try to take advantage of this annual event!
