Eighth grade social studies begins with a review of the Constitution, followed by the Civil War and Reconstruction.  Much of the year's focus is on events surrounding 1900 including The Second Industrial Revolution and Immigration.  Time permitting, we can explore additional topics.  Major projects include a senior citizen interview and an immigrant's experience.

The five themes of geography provide the framework for the content of seventh grade social studies.  We will apply the tools of geography and consider global impact and culture as we study the following regions: Europe and Russia and Asia and the Pacific. Current events will also help us learn about world geography.
