How can we become better emotion regulators, and how can changes in emotion regulation impact physical health? How does the healthy human brain subserve the processes of emotion experience and emotion regulation, and how are these processes altered in different forms of psychopathology?

These questions drive the research I'm conducting as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Rice University. To address these questions, I employ a translational social cognitive neuroscience approach involving longitudinal analysis of emotion self-reports, health behavior, psychophysiology, and neuroimaging (via structural and functional MRI).
