ACM 50th Anniversary Celebration

I am a fan of Country music. I also like many others forms of music, but Country holds a special place in my heart. Last night I watched the ACM Awards Show with 70,000 people present. While sitting there, I pondered why Country is so popular across a large spectrum of the U.S. population.

As the evening entertainment continued, I noticed a constant theme whenever someone received an award. Some place in their acceptance speech, they mentioned God and Country (the United States). Several also mentioned our troops and/or the charities they are involved with.

Near the end of the evening, the program took a moment to reflect upon the loss of the innocent men, women and children in the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995 and the Twin Towers on 9/11.

Could this be one of the reasons for the mass appeal of Country music?

At a time when so many politicians and other Government representatives are trying to separate themselves from God and Country to be politically correct, it is refreshing to see/hear people openly express their love for their God and their Country.

God bless America!
