I'll help you to become aware of your painful feelings and to learn to tolerate them, so that you're free to make choices instead of just reacting to life.
I am a licensed, independent social worker. I have worked my way up to the management level of an agency, but interacting directly with clients is what I enjoy most. I have experience working with clients who have many different types of concerns, such as eating disorders, anxiety, depression, addiction, and interpersonal problems. I tailor my treatment approaches to the needs and wants of my clients. (If you have some knowledge of treatment approaches, these approaches include psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and motivational interviewing approaches). Besides my Master's in Social Work, I also have a PhD in English, so I am particularly interested in helping clients to use their reading or writing as therapy.
I currently take these insurances:
Aetna
Allways
Boston Medical Center HealthNet--BMC (part of Beacon Health) Only their Masshealth plan; not their commercial plan.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield
CeltiCare (mental health benefits provided by Cenpatico)
Commonwealth OneCare (not including their Senior Care Options)
GIC/Unicare
Magellan
MBHP
Medicare
Tufts--commercial plans only, not the Masshealth plans
If you have another insurance, consider whether your insurance has out-of-network benefits, or if you want to pay "out of pocket." In addition, I welcome social workers and other allied mental health professionals who are seeking supervision for their licensure.
If you're in emotional pain and are simply looking for a therapist to see soon, you may not want to read a whole spiel from me. But in order to please anyone who might be curious, I have provided links below about me and about my profession, as well as the link above to my page at LinkedIn.com.
Feel free to call or send me an email with your phone number.
