I am a visiting assistant professor in the University of Iowa's Linguistics Department. Before that I was a lecturer and post-doc in Harvard University's Linguistics Department under Masha Polinsky.

I received my PhD from the Linguistics Department at the University of Maryland. my advisors were Norbert Hornstein and Howard Lasnik

I was born in Everett, WA (pictured above) and studied Linguistics (advised by Barbara Citko and Edith Aldridge), German language and literature, and Finnish language and literature at the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating in 2008 magna cum laude with distinction in linguistics. I currently live in Iowa City, IA.

In my free time I read fiction, jog, play basketball, and carve wood
