All of the following are CDs except where noted (the images should make things fairly obvious when it's a cassette).

  • ABC: The Lexicon of Love (Mercury, 810 003-2) First CD version manufactured in Germany for the UK and European markets. Looks to be a 1986 pressing? EX/M £8

  • ALMAN MULO BAND: Orisha (Taste, TASTE 37, 1994) Duo with Harvey Bainbridge from Hawkwind. Inlay is a bit wrinkly, but was like this when bought new (as were all copies they were selling). Seems to be something to do with the type of glossy paper used, so let's call the inlay EX even though it is, technically, near enough as new. Disc M £15

  • KEVIN AYERS: The Confessions of Doctor Dream and Other Stories (Harvest, no catalogue number, 2009) Promotional in-house test press in white, printed wraparound sleeve and PVC envelope for 2009 reissue with bonus tracks. Track listing available here (track listing on this site does not make clear that the first four bonus tracks were recorded for John Peel's show and the last three are from two Island 7" singles). EX/M £15
  • KEVIN AYERS: Sweet Deceiver (Harvest, no catalogue number, 2009) Promotional in-house test press in white, printed wraparound sleeve and PVC envelope for 2009 reissue with bonus tracks. Track listing available here. Now, let's just put the record straight - this LP keeps getting a panning, whilst I rate it higher than Dr. Dream...a LOT higher than Dr. Dream! EX/M £15
  • KEVIN AYERS: Yes We Have No Mananas (Harvest, no catalogue number, 2009) Promotional in-house test press in white, printed wraparound sleeve and PVC envelope for 2009 reissue with bonus tracks. Track listing available here. Let's also say what I think about this one...well, I didn't really like it. Too much of a straight rock LP, whilst the follow-up (Rainbow Takeaway) I thought to be Kevin back on form. EX/M £15
  • BEACH BOYS: Pet Sounds (Capitol, 5 27319 2, 2000) Mono digital remaster with no fiddling with the tapes - just as straight a transformation from analogue to digital. Good on you! EX/M £3
  • COLDPLAY: Ghost Stories (Parlophone, 825646305919, 2014) Outer box EX, rest M £3
  • ELVIS COSTELLO & BURT BACHARACH: Painted from Memory (Mercury, 538 002-2, 1998) PVC sticker on case is a bit 'worn', otherwise EX/M £3
  • CURVED AIR: Air Conditioning (WB, 7599-26433-2, German press for Euro market) M/M £3
  • BOB DYLAN: Blond On Blond (Columbia, COL 463369 2, 1991 or 1992) Nice Price issue with Nice Price sticker on case. EX/M £3
  • DYLAN & THE DEAD: Dylan & the Dead (CBS, CBS 463381 2, 1989) M/M £3
  • 808 STATE: 90 (ZTT, 246 461-2, 1989) German press for UK and Euro markets. EX/M £3
  • KEITH EMERSON: Changing States (Amo, AMP-CD026, 2002) Very low-key 2002 re-release of the 1995 original looking more like a bootleg than a real CD. Light dink means that inlay is EX. Disc is M £20
  • EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL: Eden (WEA/Blanco Y Negro, 2292-40395-2, German press for Euro market) Wonderful debut that included Charles Hayward from Quiet Sun on drums EX/M £3
  • FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD: Welcome to the Pleasure Dome (Island/ZTT, CID 101/824 052-2) Do you know, I still reckon that this could have been a cracking single album - the filler really does ruin it. This looks to be possibly a late 1980s or early 1990s copy. This is a PDO-pressed CD, which has bronzed. The CD is also quite scuffed on both the playing and credit sides, but plays perfectly. Inlay is EX £5
  • GENESIS: Genesis (Charisma/Virgin, GEN CD1, 1984) This is the original German-manufactured CD made especially for the UK market. Not a barcode in sight. Inlay has side dinks, so VG. Disc M £5
  • GENESIS: Duke (Virgin, 00946 3 91646 2 2/GENCD 9, 2007) M/M £5
  • GRATEFUL DEAD: The Best of Fare Thee Well Celebrating 50 Years of Grateful Dead (2-CD. Rhino, 08122792457, 2015) EX/M £5

  • JEAN MICHEL JARRE: Rendez Vous (Dreyfus/Polydor, 829125-2, 1986) Original German-manufactured copy for UK and European market. EX/M £3
  • JETHRO TULL: Living in the Past (Chrysalis, CDP32 1575-2, 1990?) rear barcode panel states 'Distibuted by Parlophone' rather than the more usual 'EMI' credit. M/M £4
  • JETHRO TULL: Aqualung (Chrysalis, 4 9 5401 2, 1998) Remastered using the Prism Sound Super-Noise-Shaping system. M/M £4
  • JETHRO TULL: Benefit (Chrysalis, 5 35457 2, 2001) 2001 digital remaster with 4 bonus tracks. M/M £5
  • JETHRO TULL: Thick as a Brick (Chrysalis, 4 95400 2, 1997) 1997 digital remaster with 2 (very long) bonus tracks, including an interview. M/M £4
  • MAN: Original Album Series (5-CD set. Warner/Parlophone, 2564636189. Man, Do You Like It Here.., Be Good To Yourself..., Rhinos, Winos & Lunatics & Slow Motion in outer box) Outer box EX, rest M/M £9
  • MAN: Original Album Series Vol. 2 (5-CD set. Warner/Parlophone, 0190295973056. Greasy Truckers Present Man, Live at the Padgett Rooms.., Back into the Future, Christmas at the Patti & Maximum Darkness in outer box) Outer box EX, rest M/M £9
  • MAN: Golden Hour of Man (CASSETTE. Golden Hour/Pye, ZCGH 589, 1973) This really is here as a collection filler. Cassette does not play as far as I can tell and the casing has been broken and sellotaped back together (badly). Inlay is also a bit rough. Basically, a curiosity in that you don't see this cassette often. Very poor condition...you have been warned! £1
  • JOHN MAYALL & BLUES BREAKERS WITH ERIC CLAPTON: Blues Breakers (Deram, 800 086-2, German-manufactured Euro issue [1988?]) EX/M £5
  • MOODY BLUES: Every Good Boy Deserves Favour (Threshold, 820 160-2, German-manufactured Euro issue [1986]) This is the first European CD issue and was intended for UK and other European territories. EX/M £10
  • MOTT THE HOOPLE: Greatest Hits (Columbia, CK 34368, 1986) This is the first CD release (this is the US version, which was the only version available in the UK for years). EX/M £7
  • MIKE OLDFIELD: QE2 (Virgin CDV 2181, first UK CD issue?) Inlay has a couple of dinks, otherwise VG. Disc M £3
  • ORB: Orblivion (CASSETTE. Island, ICT 8055 524 347-4, 1997) M/M £3
  • ORB: Pomme Fritz: The Orb's Little Album (CASSETTE. Island/Inter-Modo, ORBMC1524 013-4, 1994) M/M £3

  • OREGON: Music of Another Present Era (Ace/Vanguard Masters, VMD 79326) Odd mix of classical, jazz and eastern musics first issued in 1973. M/M £8
  • PLANT & PAGE: Title TBA (Fontana, ADV982, 1998) Mercury advance CD in promotional card sleeve. Photos show reflections from the thin PVC sleeve just in case you're wondering what the 'blobs' and discolourations are. VG+/M £10
  • PORTISHEAD: All Mine (CD SINGLE. Go Beat, 571 597-2, 1997) Other tracks are Cowboys and Cowboys Instrumental. M/M £3
  • LOU REED: Legendary Lou Reed (3-CD set. BMG, 74321946172, this compilation 2002) Small area of water damage on rear inlay, so VG. Front inlay, center inlay and CDs M £5
  • SANTANA: Santana (CBS, CDCBS 32003) Dutch press for Euro market in red plastic inlay - is this the first CD issue? EX/M £5
  • SCRITTI POLITTI: Absolute (Virgin, 50999 6 32044 2 1, 2011) Still sealed with the remains of a promo sticker on the rear. M/M £3
  • SKIDS: Sweet Suburbia - The Best of the Skids (Virgin Choice Cuts, CDOVD 457, this release 1995) Side dinks are quite heavy, so inlay is VG. Disc is M £3

  • RIKI SORSA: Desert of Love (Columbia, COL 509405 2, Finnish CD of 1982 LP, including Jim Pembroke from Wigwam on composition, piano and backing vocals. Includes one song written by Frank Robson, original vocalist with Tasavallan Presidentti) M/M £8
  • STRAWBS: Deep Cuts (CASSETTE. Oyster/Polydor, 3177 234, 1976) Shouldn't this be on the folk page? Well, by this time there are two keyboard players and not a folk song in sight. The Strawbs go full-on prog, though with a bit of a poppy edge to parts of it. Inlay is a bit age-stained inside, though decent enough overall. VG/M £3
  • SPOOKY TOOTH: The Mirror (Charly/Classic Rock, CDCD 1032, 1992) Dreadful sleeve design with very early line-up pictured on the front of what was an album by the last version of the band, and which sounds like a test-run for Foreigner (i.e. a mostly bland pile of not particularly wonderful rock music, despite Gary Wright being back in the band). That said, this represents the first CD issue. EX/M £10
  • TANGERINE DREAM: The Warsaw Concert (DOUBLE-PLAY CASSETTE. Jive Electro, HIP C 22, 1984) The cassette has some dodgy printing on one side, in that part has been missed off, which is exactly as it was when I bought it new in 1986. I saw them on this tour and ended up backstage with them when I got lost trying to find a short-cut out of The Colston Hall, Bristol - upshot, helping them eat their post-gig nosh in the surprisingly-large dressing room! In trainspotting terms I've 'cabbed' Tangerine Dream. This was a double LP and is a double-length single cassette. EX/M £3
  • TANGERINE DREAM: Tyger (CASSETTE. Jive Electro, HIP C47, 1987) EX/M £3
  • THIN LIZZY: Thin Lizzy (Deram, 820 528-2, 1990) German-manufactured disc for UK and European markets. M/M £5

  • THIN LIZZY: Vagabonds of the Western World (2-CD. Decca/Universal, 984 194-9, 2010) Deluxe Edition spread over two CDs. Has two stickers, one states that the set is digitally remastered with 23 bonus tracks and the other says 'Deluxe Edition' - note that this is the rarer version of the second sticker, which is small and rectangular, rather than covering the whole of the bottom of the cover. EX/M £20
  • THIN LIZZY: Nightlife (2-CD. Mercury/Universal, 2792226, 2012) Deluxe Edition spread over two CDs. Includes "MADE IN GERMANY BY EDC" text on CD centre moulds. Has a sticker that says 'Deluxe Edition' - note that this is the rarer version, which is small and rectangular, rather than covering the whole of the bottom of the cover. M/M £8

  • NIK TURNER AND HIS INTERPLANETARY ARKESTRA: Space Fusion Odyssey (Purple Pyramid, ELF-2302-2, 2015) Hm, what other CD can boast inclusion of members of Gong, Soft Machine, the Doors, the Flock and even Yes, let alone the ever-wonderful Billy Cobham? All that and a nod to Sun Ra and plenty of cosmic Mellotron. M/M £8
  • VARIOUS ARTISTS: Rough Trade Shops: Synth Wave 10 (Rough Trade, RTSW10X, 2010) EX/M £5
  • VARIOUS ARTISTS: The Orb & Youth Present Impossible Oddities (3-CD set. Wau! Mr. Modo/Year Zero, 5 055311 050065, this compilation 2010) M/M £3

  • CLIFFORD T. WARD: Gaye and Other Stories (Virgin Universal, CDVM 9009, 1992 compilation) Okay, okay, I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Clifford T. Ward, but when it comes down to it, I've got all the LPs and singles, so why do I need this CD, wonderful though it is? Inlay has a dink and some creasing, otherwise VG/M £3
  • RONNIE WOOD: Slide on Live: Plugged In and Standing (Continuum/Music for Nations, CDCTUM 3, 1993) With old mucker, Ian McLagan on keyboards. EX/M £3
  • YELLO: You Gotta Say Yes to Another Excess (Vertigo, 812 166-2, 1988) This is the Special Price series reissue from 1988 on the double Red Swirl disc design with "Made in W.Germany" printed on disc. Special Price part on inlay has dink and small tear, top left, but rest of inlay is M. Disc M £3
