Bright Welcome

Welcome to the Bright Club (Edinburgh) First Degree web-page.

WHO ARE WE?
During the Innovative learning week 2012
at the University of Edinburgh, the Bright Club
wisdom (mainly in the perosn of Karon McBride) has been extedned to a fortunate few of undergraduate students of the College of Science and Engeneering. To own the truth, the call to stand up for comedy normally suppressed by the cold scientific objectivity was mostly answered by hopeful Physicists and Mathematicians. Out of a group of about 10, Alastair, Justs and I finally made it to the stage.

SO WHAT IS GOING ON?
Bright Club is an alternative way for academics and researchers to present their scientific work - in the format of stand-up comedy. No posters, no ppts, no jargone! As humble undergrads we don't have any research to talk about, so we focus on our interests (scientific or otherwise), our daily frustrations and common stereotypes about our degrees.

AND WHAT HAPPEND?
We took it to the stage on 2nd April, at the
Banshee Labrynth. Our compere for the evening was one of the funniest Scottish comedians, Susan Morrison, and we did our best to entertain the audience for as long as we could. See our photo gallery to see us in action.

WHAT NOW?
Well, we are looking forward to new challenges, perhaps hopefully wishing for admittance to "the real thing" and warmly welcoming NEW MEMBERS!

A QUICK UPDATE
Recently, in November 2012, the undergraduate wing teamed up with the "grown-ups" to entertain at FameLab heats in Edinburgh. See some photos
