Briggs PB Engine Project

I purchased this Briggs model PB engine in 2005. It  was a fair price I guess for a basket case, ($203.50).
There is a chip out of the jug but I think it is far from being a goner, (almost all the PB jugs I have seen are chipped). My opinion is that this engine was left outside for a while. No real wear on the parts from what I can see, just rust and the usual crud! The exceptions that I can see are the thin steel parts like the steel mag plate, the oil pans -  they have rust or holes in them. A good blasting, paint, new gaskets, some new nuts, bolts, and washers ought to do miracles. I do not have the air cleaner or the screw-in inlet  connection on the carb. The blower cover was so badly rusted through so I tossed it, (no brass tag). This engine is almost complete otherwise. It will take an effort to get a good restore but bit by bit I will get her there! Please see my other picture pages on this site for more on this engine.

Update: Oh Boy! I got holes in some of the thin metal
parts due some rust issues! Might be time to get out the
JB weld!
Getting the parts blasted and primered. the blasting is
very time consuming but slowly each piece is getting cleaned and primered.
