Westover Ward Councillors to hold 'drop-in' sessions at Unity House

Some people call them surgeries , but maybe the thought of politicians with scalpels doesn't fill you with we thought we'd try 'drop ins' . Either way, the Westover Ward councillors have set aside the last saturday in each month to make themselves available to constituents who would like to talk to them in person about any ward matters they see fit.

The Councillors will be at Unity House, Dampiet Street from 11am to 1pm on the last saturday of each month starting this week (Saturday  28th January).

For the unaware, Unity House is the headquarters of the Bridgwater Labour Party and also home to the Unity Club-a popular drinking venue in the town, however, many other activities take place there including a dance studio and meeting rooms upstairs where Trades Unions and community groups regularly get together.

The front downstairs floor consists of the Labour Party office and more recently  a Labour Movement Library which people are welcome to browse through.

The building also has free wifi.

Ward Councillors are this week distributing the first 2012 Westover Ward newsletter 'Westover Rose' which lets people know of the various ways to keep tabs on your local representatives..(so watch out for that one...).
