Where are they now?

TODD DURKIN - QB - 1985-1988
Todd came into the program from the legendary Brick Pop Warner football system, led by Head Coach Joe Morris.  Prepared to start almost immediately, the expectation was that Todd Durkin's next few years would bring Brick back to glory.  Those teams delivered, putting Brick in classic A-South Battles.  This culminated in the 1988 Playoffs which featured the rematch of the first ever on-the-field NJ State Championship from 1974 pitting Brick vs. Camden.  With Brick the underdog, but the home team, Keller Memorial Field was filled with hundreds of varsity jackets dating back to the 1960's.  Waiting outside the locker room, hundreds of alumni Dragons escorted this team to the field, lining the field from the entrance to the sideline in a memorable tribute to the past and present.  On a cold, rainy day in November, Brick was victorious as the Asbury Park Press proclaimed "Brick wins super Saturday!"  This team went on to play Cherry Hill East in the State Finals, falling to future NFL Quarterback Brian Foley in a battle of college bound QB's.  Todd left his mark on the Brick program and continues to be a part of it, and pay tribute to it in his nationally recognized television and internet appearances.
