More about Registration

The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)

Osteopathy became the first of the complementary medicines to achieve statutory self-regulation with the Osteopaths Act 1993. It has one regulatory body - the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC).

It is a criminal offence for practitioners to use the title 'osteopath' unless registered with the GOsC.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is a mandatory requirement for all osteopaths as a condition of annual registration demonstrating a commitment to public safety and high standards of practice.

For further information or to check that registration is current you can telephone the GOsC on 020 7357 6655 or visit their website at www.osteopathy.org.uk.
