The taxonomy of species was first developed by a scientist named Carolus Linnaeus. The bird's kingdom is the Animalia Kingdom. The species name for a bird is Monticola Gularis. Their class is Aves or Avifauna. Their phylum is Chordata. Orders of birds start to diverge, and so does the rest of the levels. For example: the Ohio Cardinal has the same kingdom, phylum, and class, but their order is Passeriformes, family: Cardinalidae, genus: Cardinalis, & species name: C. cardinalis.
