FONTANA IS PLEASED AND EXCITED TO ASSUME ADMINISTRATION OF THE BRAVO! COMPETITION BEGINNING IN 2015, AND TO JOIN THE MANY COMMUNITY PARTNERS HELPING TO HOST THIS ANNUAL EVENT FOR YOUNG MUSICIANS IN KALAMAZOO AND THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES.
IT TAKES A VILLAGE...and we are SO grateful to all of the organizations and individuals who contribute their time, efforts and resources to provide opportunities for these young musicians to perform for YOU, our community. Once you experience a performance by this select group of artists, you will agree that our artistic future is in wonderfully capable hands!
BRAVO! is brought to you by:
Crescendo Academy of Music
Kalamazoo RESA - Education for the Arts
Gilmore Keyboard Festival
Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra
WMUK FM 102.1
Bravo! performances showcase the best musical talent of local high school students grades 9-12.
Applicants selected as 2015 BRAVO! winners will be featured in a
recital in the Epic Theatre in the Epic Center on Thursday, March 5, 2015. Those students, selected by a panel of judges, perform live
at the Bravo! concert, with portions of the performance broadcast
at a later date on WMUK 102.1FM's "Let's Hear It."
Winners will also be invited to a Young Artist Forum, led by David Baldwin, Artistic and Executive Director of Fontana Chamber Arts. Drawing on his experience as a presenter, artist manager, and performer, David will lead an educational and enlightening discussion on life in a music career. The forum will take place at WMUK, and allow for a behind-the-scenes look at the station and its studios.
Applicants will be contacted to schedule an audition time once a completed application is received.
High school student musicians (grades 9-12) practicing any musical discipline may apply.
